PF Series Study1- Dream Spiral

The idea to create this image from these materials came to me in a dream. The image links back to a fire-based waking vision (a rare occurrence for me) that I had over a year ago.

The intertwined spiral connected to & yet separate from The Field is a highly significant symbol to me with several layers of meaning. As I worked with the materials, the different layers of meaning superimposed upon each other in my mind, revealing startling and profound deeper wisdom about a number of things I had been struggling about.

This image launched the Pressed Flower series, with the entire series forming in my mind by the time my head left the pillow in the morning. The flowers: spring cherry blossoms from up the street, already pressed and still sitting in the book, ready for a purpose I hadn’t yet defined. It is an experiential exploration of a train of thoughts around vitality, impermanence, the essence of life.
